Chronic Ear Surgery

addresses persistent ear problems from infections, eardrum perforations, or middle ear bone issues, often causing drainage, pain, and hearing loss. Tympanoplasty repairs perforated eardrums to improve hearing and prevent infection. Mastoidectomy removes infected mastoid air cells, often for chronic infections or cholesteatoma.

Stapedectomy

is a delicate microsurgical procedure for hearing loss caused by otosclerosis, where abnormal bone growth affects the stapes bone. The non-functioning stapes is replaced with a prosthesis, restoring sound conduction to the inner ear and significantly improving hearing.

Balloon Dilation of Eustachian Tubes (BDET)

is a minimally invasive, in-office procedure for chronic Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD), which causes ear fullness, popping, pain, or muffled hearing. A balloon catheter gently inflates the Eustachian tube, promoting proper pressure equalization and fluid drainage. Recovery is quick (24-48 hours), offering long-term relief.

Cochlear Implants

use bone conduction to transmit sound directly to the inner ear, bypassing outer and middle ear issues. They are effective for conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, or single-sided deafness, involving a small surgically placed titanium implant behind the ear.

Bone Anchored Hearing Aids (BAHA)

Myringotomy with Ear Tubes

is a procedure for adults (12+) with recurrent middle ear infections or persistent fluid buildup, causing pain, pressure, and hearing loss. A small incision in the eardrum drains fluid, and a tiny tube is inserted to keep the middle ear aerated, reducing infection frequency and improving hearing. It's often performed in-office under local anesthesia.
