Neck masses or swelling can result from infections, cysts, enlarged lymph nodes, or other underlying conditions. While many are benign, it’s important to have any persistent or unexplained neck changes evaluated promptly.

At Piedmont Ear, Nose, Throat and Related Allergy, our experienced team offers thorough diagnostic evaluations and advanced surgical care for neck conditions. From biopsies to removal of cysts or lymph nodes, we ensure precise treatment tailored to your individual needs.

If you are experiencing chronic ear infections, hearing loss, or ear discomfort, our ENT specialists can evaluate your symptoms and recommend the right treatment.

Parotidectomy

is the surgical removal of part or all of the parotid salivary gland (in front of/below the ear), typically for benign or malignant tumors, or chronic infections. The procedure carefully removes the affected gland while preserving the facial nerve.

Laryngoscopy

is a procedure to visually examine the voice box (larynx) and vocal cords, used to diagnose voice changes, chronic sore throat, swallowing difficulties, chronic cough, or suspected vocal cord issues. It can be performed indirectly (office-based with mirror/flexible scope) or directly (under general anesthesia for thorough examination/biopsy).

Sistrunk Procedure (Thyroglossal Duct Cyst Removal)

is performed to remove thyroglossal duct cysts, common congenital neck lumps, along with the central portion of the hyoid bone and the tract to the tongue base, preventing recurrence.

Thyroidectomy

is the surgical removal of part or all of the thyroid gland, indicated for thyroid cancer, suspicious or symptomatic benign nodules, large goiters causing breathing/swallowing issues, or hyperthyroidism unresponsive to other treatments. Surgeons prioritize preserving parathyroid glands and recurrent laryngeal nerves.
